This number has called me 6 times over as many day it rings once then they hang up so frustrating how can I find out who this is without ringing them.
Suspect scam number. When answered nobody on the other end, just a call centre type of background noise

SCAM 'YOu've been involved in an incident with another vehicle' - no I have never - the guy was desperately trying to convince me it was not a collision or anything large but a very minor incident.
Beware !! They are scammers pretending to be police, saying my national insurance number and bank account were compromised and tried to instruct me to download Revolut to protect my savings !

Had a feeling this was ADT, haven t confirmed it but the comments seem to strongly indicate ADT. On top of the 0161 code. Just rang now at 3.19 in the morning, about five to six rings before I d even got to it, and then stopped. Alarm not going off, and it is for our house so would like to know why they rang in the wee hours when we re sleeping.

At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.

This grouping of numbers is ridiculous! I started researching this number and it returned spam, so no, I don't need to hear what they have to say! If I fail to answer once, they'll immediately try to call again. When I don't answer, I block. Then they'll ring on a slightly different number in the coming days with the same tactics. Basically they re a fishing company, poorly-paid scammers doing blanket cold calling asking "have you had an accident in past 3 years" (citing they have bogus "information at hand") until, inevitably, someone says "yes". Cue then a selling job about how they can claim compo for you (for a % price). Not a scam; just a sad reflection of compensation culture and call-centre mentality. Hang up immediately; or if you want to be arsey, engage person in pointless conversation (though it isn t really his/her fault)
