SCAM - Just had a call saying they were contacting me about upgrading my phone, so I wasn't best pleased about being disturbed when I'm not feeling well with a very heavy cold. I knew it was a scam straight away as there was no link to my existing provider, so I informed the caller of that and told him to "Bu**er off"! Suggest others do the same.

He then tried to interest me in energy savings from govt scheme for new efficient boilers. Scam call purportedly from bank advising of fraudulent credit card transactions which they are blocking. The caller wants you to input a code which they text to you. DO NOT DO SO. If you do they will, no doubt, get access to your account. I put a block on the call number via my mobile phone provider and sent an email to the bank's security dept informing them of the scam.

KEEP them on the line for as long as possible so they don t have time to annoy others, especially the vulnerable. Its much more fun to wind them up than come off the phone annoyed...
