I just got a call from this number about PPI ,trying to confirm my details etc. I played along for about ten minutes then called his bluff. He started cursing and swearing at me down the phone but seemed a little taken aback when I gave him far worse than anything he was saying to me.

The caller called me in regards to my energy bills. I simply asked her for their unit price . She said she couldnt give me that information until I spent time with her on the phone. Then she said I was rude. Not a company I would want to deal with.

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. Similar numbers are reported as a telemarketing - scam PPI calls. Did someone answer any number of this range? Is there any reason why companies use line with shared costs for just ringing you and left no message (other than scam...)? If this was a silent call for you, do not call back for any reason! This was a genuine call and text (very badly written, and call included a poorly recorded computerised message, so I am not surprised people are suspicious!) I double checked it was genuine by calling through HSBC Premier to be transferred. The fraud detection system had flagged a transaction I had tried to make online as suspicious. It was in fact genuine and they have reset the card accordingly. Glad they are on the ball, but the messages could be much better written/recorded.
