Received an automated message purporting to be from Barclays saying there had been attempted fraudulent activity on my old Barclaycard and that they would text me details. This they did, saying that they would call me from 01628778331. The scammers have ways of making a call appear to come from a genuine number. The call appeared to come from this number and they asked for my new card number and DoB. After the call was finished, I thought about it and called the Barclay's Customer Service number on the back

They rang my mobile twice today. The area code that came up is my home area. I rang them back, as I wondered if it was someone I knew. No not a bit of it. They are on Merseyside which is a 4hours road trip at least from here. Apparently it depends when the 'phone signal comes from - yeh right. I told them not to ring me again and they said they wouldn't. We will see.

Asks for a director by name but refused to say what they are ringing about. Very pushy and insistent that the Director knows them and had spoken previously to them. When asked the name of their company said LFH Engineering but very much doubt this was the real company name.
This number is barns medical practice. It will show up as 01292282004 but cannot receive incoming calls. This information was in their newsletter.
