This is a Debt Collection Agency - yet another one - asking for a Mr Thomas Davies or Mrs Davies (if I answer). One of many!!! This number must be part of the range of numbers dedicated to the same call centre - I can see more similar numbers of the same range 1618143xxx reported here already, so far as I can see on internet with accident chasers, RTA, PPI, insurance marketing - mostly robocalls, sometimes reported with "First Call Group". Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). People did they call you with something new, new scope?

This number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with Carphone warehouse, seems to be their call center.

Indian sounding genteleman called, asked me if I was Mr >>>> XXXXXX. He got my name correct but I lied and said "No". He then asked are you a family member? I said "No". He obviously realised I wasn t telling him the truth and he started pretending to cry that I wasn t a family member! Then just hung up. This sort of thing wouldn t normally bother me but the call started identically to a worrying scam that happened earlier today. I have barred the call on my handset and would suggest you do not answer

I was contacted by these people and when I pointed out that my number was registered with the TPS I was told this it was not a sales call but an advisory call! I have made a written complaint pointing out that they are breaking the Claims Management Regulation rules and that I will be reporting them to the Regulator. I have also reported them to the ICO.

Someone saying they were from the technical department of Virgin Media and mentioning that my broadband speed had not been very good over the past couple of days. When I asked how I could tell that they were from Virgin Media they hung up.
