SCAM Someone called “David” called trying to sell me a mobile phone contract. iPhone 13 pro max, 24 months with unlimited data, minutes and texts. For £40 a month. When enquired, came up with nonsense which made no sense. Asked for network provider, my name, and starting asking family names. Of course gave fake names and realised I knew they were scammers. Swearing dialogue commenced, said they were from Sri Lanka which seems nonsense. Accent sounded Indian. Called back on different number
Caller asked to speak to person who wasn t in. Told to phone again after 6pm (4 hours away). Received 2 further calls from this number within 30 minutes of original call so caller obviously doesn t listen.

I ve received 3 calls from these idiots - two I failed to answer but after reading posts on sites like this decided, for my own amusement, to answer on the third call. The chap on the other end rambled on about insurance and said he was from a company called Red Star. When I asked who Red Star were he got quite abrupt/aggressive. Very abrupt chap called Charles said he was from Domestic Appliances and would not let me get a word in edgeways. He said my appliances were no longer covered as my insurance had run out. I asked him which appliance had recently lapsed insurance - he wouldn't answer just said "are all your appliances in working order. I said I already had appliance cover - he put the phone down.

The caller called no company name and required a man unknown to me. I told her that she would have been there probably dialed the wrong number and she said no, that is in my way on the list. I meant that their list is wrong then and hung up. Since then try it again and again.

An automated message comes up saying the call is from HM Revenue & Customs, gives you a case file number, and says if you ignore the call, you will face legal applications. Then asks you to press 1 to speak to an adviser. The advisor distantly says she is calling from the HMRC and asks for your name. When I asked her where are you calling from again, she hung up.

This is a new, and weird, one for me. Called my landline but disconnected when I picked up (now they know this is a live number,,,damn!!).
