The point of the scam is to find gullible people who will believe what they say. They are crooks who once they find a victim will ask them for personal details and /or credit card/bank details "So we can proceed with our refund to you" They then commit identity fraud or empty your bank account. Obviously you were the ones they were looking for for them to steal your hard earned money from. SCAM / SPAM Automated male voice tell me that the Inland Revenue have opened a fraud case in my name. If I don't click '1' now then I will be arrested. I hung up of course.
This number range is allocated to Core Telecom we allocate numbers responsibly within the ofcom regulations. The call to cost this number is 30p per call. Mobile networks may charge higher but that is not within our control. The number is not text enabled so therefore there should be no charge for texting. We will investigate the use of the number and if it is found to being used outside of the specified use we will disconnect the number. We have suspended this number while we investigate. Thanks
