"BT" phoned to say been trying to phone me (received no calls in days) and due to "Suspicious activity" are going to disconnect by Internet unless I talk to an operative, who spent 15 minutes calling my 80 year old father some swear words for his lack of internet knowledge and no online bank account.

Rang twice and hung up. I saw it was a premium number so did not answer. The best way to notice a scam call is when the caller asks for you by surname (which they cannot pronounce) probably because the forename is not mentioned in the records as they see them. Then scammers ALWAYS ask how you are, which is often when they try pulling up more details from the records.
Block the number, ignore these charlatans. They are "injury specialists", the same scoundrels responsible for this preposterous "victim" culture of claiming money if you trip over the kerb. I block every one of their numbers once they introduce themselves. I refuse to even talk - I just put the phone down, block the number and get on with what I am doing. Allegedly bt a recorded message that my internet connection would be cut from today unless I dialled a certain number.
Had a few text messages asking me to call these clowns and had my first call from this number minutes ago but about 2 months after my first message.. googled this number realized who it is an blocked them. I know I owe them nothing so definitely a scam!
