This is a scam number pretending to be from the "ONS" (Office of National Statistics) for a telephone interview following on from the National Census form completion. It was from a letter from the so called ONS but the phone number was written by hand. The letter also contained genuine numbers for the ONS to give it a realistic authenticity. They try to get you to pay a fine/ empty your bank account.

Told them I wasn t interested, didn t have a call for a week or so and now they re off again! This is definately NOT RAC because I ve checked the number with them! This number has been calling for month, plus this number has been ringing me sometimes right after each other and it is a nuisance sometimes 6 or 7 times a day. Sometimes I answer this number by accident and recently I asked them to stop ringing and take my number off their list, which has never happened as they refused to do so. on 22 june the above number 0161 8735544 rang my son and said that an amount of ?1500.00 was waiting to be claimed fir whiplash for a accident he had in 2009 foulishly he gave them details including his mobile phone number and said they will ring him on monday 25th june to follow this up. This is updating a previous comment I made. The number is definitely Social Services but you cannot return the call to this number directly as it seems to be a main switchboard and is constantly engaged - you need to have the extension for the person who contacts you. If you don t have an answerphone then you will have to answer the call to find out who exactly is calling and for what reason.
