SCAM- scammers posing as SANTANDER. They’ll message you as SANTANDER (seems legitimate) saying you will receive a text message from the above number in a few minutes. The text from above number asks you to help save the environment by going paper free by receiving your bank statements, documents and letters via email rather than the post. It said it will send me an email with my actual email address in the text, which I can see would again seem very legitimate). It said type ‘YES’ to go paper free. DO NOT!

SCAM Got this text saying it was from llyods and that I paired a device. Said to click a link if it was not me. I didn't pair any device and I have NEVER had a llyods account. A google search does come back with the number linking it to India and I have been getting some calls from India in the last month or so. Obviously I never answer these calls.

As stated by Max above - The caller said he was calling from British Gas and said they have had technical issues and they need my electricity meter numbers. I work in the energy industry and I am aware they can access this via the national electricity database (ECOES) - as my supplier they are fully entitled to use this. I challenged him and he continued to give excuses. I then terminated the call.

SCAM This is a call centre saying it is a courtesy call due to an appliances warrantee expiring, on this instance it was a washing machine, so quite believable. They wanted £65 per year for another 3 years full cover. It sounded very genuine until she said that she wanted me to tell her the name and make of my appliance and i said that i was ok and didn't want to renew the warrantee as i'd had it for over 5 years, then they just hung up and the line went dead.
