In response to your comment Tony M please dont be so rude as to imply others are uneducated this number is a pain in the arse. They are now ringing my husbands mobile using one of their other numbers 0161 826 5780 all times of day they dont answer you when you pick it up there is always a voicemail message directing you to hold for their accounts dept and they DENY they are workin for Orange when you do get through so check your facts are correct before making rude assumptions about others.

Got about 10 calls from this number in a matter of 5 mins, I did not answer as was working and it went to answerphone cut off and they repeatedly called again, tried to call it back in case it was to do with work but it would not connect

This call said it was from BT concerning my router but they could hardly speak English so I hung up and blocked the number

This caller Disguised number as local (01227) our area, no voice, suspect robo caller - a hang up call, we are a business I have to answer "local" numbers... incidentally I had a lady from "BT" call me yesterday and very calmly bullishly tell me they were upgrading our line to increase speed (I have nothing to with BT ever, not een a line, "Oh Great! Called concerning my gas boiler - told them I was registered for Telephone Privacy - they responded with I had completed a survey - when I asked them not to tell me lies and remove my number - response - "jog-on" - everyone is entitled to earn a living - but where are we as a society when we permit this kind of cr...p to interrupt our lives - these companies should receive fines for every unwanted call made.

I subscribe to The Economist, and renewed my subscription very late this year, a few days after the expiry. I finally picked up this call after several days and they said they wanted to know if I would renew my Economist subscription. I said that I already had, and they said "Oh, let me check my new system. Oh yes, you have, that s ok then." and that was all. A little odd, but seems like the Economist gives them the opportunity to salvage some lapsed subscriptions.
