My wife started texting a customer from her work, as it started to increase I asked her what it was all about? She told me that he was upset because a mutual friend of ours would not go out with him b/c she was all ready in a relationship with me. I let it go at the time. SCAM call from someone suggesting he was from BT and seeking access to our broadband to correct a fault as they had been receiving lots of alerts and that our IP address was being used in the public domain. On calling back, i got an automated message saying that this number had not been recognised.

This is a hoax .... say they are from currys and PC world... they offer upgrade on your phone, 1 week on no new phone canceled card payment and direct debit, phoned again today soon as they heard my voice they hung up, I've been keeping the line busy for the past 2 hours .... got nothing better to do. I know ut won't do any good but I must be annoying them and stopping them catching anyone else out.

Just used Google enhanced search & it’s from China, telling me that they were my bank and that they’d stopped 2 payments from Amazon & an international company and I was to press my phone to acknowledge it. Obviously I didn’t! Checked directly with bank.

Courier / Post office They want you to contact them via a link, for a supposedly missed parcel delivery.
I got a call this a recorded message saying that it was from HMRC and they had sent a letter to me which had been returned to them and they were about to start a prosecution against e and I should press the 1 keg to speak to an agent. I immediately hung up. This is an old scam which is apparently still doing the rounds.

This number has been making numerous calls today before 8am. It alternates with a private caller saying they are from Virginmedia. I have checked with the company who have no record of any calls being made to me. Annoying maybe dangerous.

This was a recorded message from a number purporting to be a bank (which bank not specified) and telling me that 2 dodgy transactions had just been recorded. One payment to Amazon, and one international payment via an unspecified website. Obviously crap, but a potential cause of anxiety nonetheless.
