Tried the 'we need to check some transactions on your account' trick. Told him to 'go away'..... only thing is, the number appears to be a genuine one. Looks as though it may have been hijacked.

Think it’s a scammer on FB, has hacked into an account on there and pretending to be a widower living in Bedford. The phone is being used in the Preston area. I have blocked before he tries to extract money from me. He will not send current face photo with today’s date in his hand so I know it is a scammer. The FB profile hacked looks very American not Uk. Scam tried to rip my 94 yr old mother off by offering a pendant fortunate she live with us but we weren't there to stop her giving bank details out . Called the number and they put the phone down on us clearly a fraud from a foreign country. Called bank and blocked account from been ripped off by these disgusting evil cretins. TPI apparently, just checking I wasn't getting too many sales calls! Then asked for me to check my credit card I have with them (?). It's up for renewal and they wanted to check I'd received my new one, which is a miracle in itself, because I have none. Sounded like a call centre, man had strong Indian accent. Hung up
