SCAM Caller said he was from Amazon ringing to advise that my Amazon Prime account was due to expire and asking me if I wanted to renew. I don't have Amazon Prime so realised that this was a scam so played along. I said yes I wanted to renew and he then asked me for my bank card details so I hung up. He never asked for my name.
Asked me about car accidents,but I don t have car accidents.

A woman with a West African accent phoned me at 4.30 pm on 12th July 2012. She asked me how my "claim" was progressing and whether she could help. The number 0800 862 0818 is genuine, but everyone should always consider if a number is spoofed - try to get them to tell you something about you that they know already. Eg if they ask for your email, tell them a fake one and see if they know it's fake. If they don't, they may not be genuine.

Have readout and log of incoming call,never answer unless they are on my saved list and can be identified, Give a check later on here. Always block so they can never ring back.

SCAM by recorded voice saying they were HM Revenue & Customs and a tax fraud had been reported. Say to press 1 to discuss with the officer. If I didn’t press a number to be connected I woukd soon be arrested. Obviously pressing any key will incur huge charges or they will try to get you to give personal information etc. My number is really private so I wonder just who sold it to these scammers?

They failed to provide my full name, my address, or any information as to how they got my number other than 'from the government' It's a bit funny because they tried this last month as well off a different number when the government contacted their office to get in contact with me that morning too, they know nothing but your number and partial name
