SCAM - Just had a call saying they were contacting me about upgrading my phone, so I wasn't best pleased about being disturbed when I'm not feeling well with a very heavy cold. I knew it was a scam straight away as there was no link to my existing provider, so I informed the caller of that and told him to "Bu**er off"! Suggest others do the same.

If you don’t press 1 immediately, an warrant will be issued immediately and you will be arrested shortly” HMRC doesn’t call like that, they will write to you if they need something. Don’t fall for it. Avoid it.

Noticed a missed call from this number on an old mobile I d only recently put a brand new SIM into. This phone has never been used to make calls anywhere so either Tesco Mobile have started re-issuing old numbers or the calling company are chancers.
A woman called Lauren called at 8.30 am to say that a lot of households in our neighbourhood had been receiving unwanted and nuisance calls. I asked if she was one of them and she said that her company, DDC (D Delta Complaints – or having looked at other comments, maybe it was Data Compliance) was going to put us on a more restrictive and safer system to block the fraudsters. I asked for her number and she said 0292 000 8716 but when I did 1471 it was 0208 312 0993.

I received a call from this number just now. He said he was from a company called Technical Help Service and told me my computer had a virus. He tried to convince me using various methods including running the eventvwr (the errors listed there are not related to viruses!) This is identical to the well known Windows Technical Helpdesk scam. SCAM purported to be from Royal Mail saying charge due for parcel delivery with a link to website. I doubt Royal Mail would use text messages like this, and how would they have your mobile number anyway? Don’t follow link even if you are expecting a parcel.
