Got a call proclaiming to be O2 offering 30% discount on phone bill free of charge for loyalty. The contract mentioned is 2 weeks old and I haven't paid a bill yet! I ended the call as soon as I could, if it's genuine I would have expected a text from O2 or an email.

Said he was from an IT company that I had used recently, when I asked where he got my number from overrode my questions saying he had got it from a database and continued saying I had used one of there services recently. Told him my number was on TPF and he replied not interested and it didn t concern him what I was on. Very aggressive male caller refusing to listen. ended up telling him (very rudely) to go away and hung up

Scam is to get Yr correct information name dob.. address and ask u for the 2 letter and 2nd 4th letter of your national insurance number then they say it does NOT match put u in fear that if u don't confirm correct details BTW now with NI BUT with 1st letter, 1st 3rd and last letter of NI. Convincing u if it was a scam why hv they not asked for bank details Ah so they can open account with Yr now given credentials.

If I fail to answer once, they'll immediately try to call again. When I don't answer, I block. Then they'll ring on a slightly different number in the coming days with the same tactics. P I B 1 CONTRACTOR LTD - charged 88yr old vulnerable male in Kent, £1,468.80 for emergency call out to gain entry as lock out of home and has been reported to Trading Standards. After two local locksmiths quoted £250-300 for work done inc. emergency call out fee. Please report them to trading standards as did not pressure to do work but exploited his desperateness to get back home.
