Fraud The usual "Your BT internet and phone has been compromised and will be cut off in 24 hours" even though I'm not with BT. Followed up by wanting to download remote control access programmes on my laptop. I just feigned interest to leave them hanging on as long as possible; whilst they are hanging on waiting for me they aren't scamming somebody else.

Authoritarian voice told me my National Insurance number was soon to be suspended due to illegal activity etc. I must press 1 to speak to an officer in order to avoid arrest and subsequent imprisonment.

Probably TPI (Third Party Intermediary) using hard sell techniques to convince to switch to OPUS or similar energy companies. They will do anything possible to hide the fact that they are energy brokers which is actually against the Trading Standards but Ofgem will soon start to go after them. They will try to convince you to accept a new contract with them. DO NOT Trust them as they will get paid and you may end up with an expensive new contract.
Long pause before anyone spoke, so I hung up. I suspect this might have been a call centre/spam/scam, but as I didn't speak to anyone I can't be sure.

Called from this number by a male voice offering me a free medic alert "which will put your family and loved ones' minds at ease". I told him I would think about it and get back as I have his number. I presume he was wanting me to disclose medical information about myself!

Fraud SCAM Fraud call that stated my card had been used for two large transactions of £300 Amazon and £1100 international payment. Automated message sounds like it is from the bank, but did not state name of bank, or cardholder. Used another phone to call the number back (out of curiosity). Mobile network sates it is an invalid number, and call made from Ireland, with a London code?
