Just got a call from this number. They asked for me by name and then asked me to confirm my washing machine brand. When I said I was not sure they hung up. I am sure they just want to check if the number is real before they sell it on or bombard me with other unwanted calls. They obviously did not check on the preferences list which I have contacted to make sure that these calls do not happen. Waste of time.

SCAM - I had a missed call & voicemail from this number. The voicemail was a recorded message in a male American voice asking to call back on the number. They called again, so I answered. He same recorded American Male voice started talking, saying he was someone calling from HMRC to discuss a case with me, and to call him back before "the lawsuit" against me went to "local county court". if like me you you replied to one of their surveys about how the service was and you scored them 1 out of 10 only because in Bangladesh high street they managed to pick the phone up so go one thing right so when they do call back they are going to have to tell me why i should stay a loyal customer or maybe speak to another telephone/broadband supplier.
Caller claimed to be from BT openreach calling about internet issues. They asked me to run a speed test and when I said I had 69 download and 18 upload they said that the difference was an issue. When I pointed out that it was always like that, and wasn't supposed to be the same they hung up. Obviously a scam.
This was an automated call stating is was the national crime agency, it said my national insurance number has been associated with criminal activity and I needed to press 1 to prevent my NI being frozen and me being arrested. I didn’t.

For a change, I pressed 5 because I wanted to find out how I got ON their database in the first place. I was rung up on 30.8.21 by a female Indian (?) voice claiming to be a representative of BT. There was a large amount of background noise, indicating, presumably, that this female was ringing from some sort of call centre. As I do not have a BT phone I rang off before she could get into her stride about rates. My hope is that she and her colleagues will slip in a pile of dog poo and break their ruddy necks.
