Indian man who claimed I had been specially selected as a Carphone Warehouse customer to benefit from a special offer. I've never shopped at Carphone Warehouse, so knew it was a scam. When I confronted him with this he said he got my number from a database. I asked him what his mother thought of him working as a scam caller, at which point he hung up.

Telemarketing Just had a call from this number telling i would get 10 free lines on the euro, i said how much is this going to cost me, apparently i get so many lines on tuesday and so many line on friday for £39 a month for 3 months if i don't win i get my money back, i said so this is going to cost me £120 over 3 months no thanks give my lines to someone else,i thought £39 a month is a lot of money to win at least £2.80

This is a debt collection company. Often long term or aging debt is sold and the purchasing collection agency makes profit by aggressively chasing that debt. They use any data they can get to bug you typically to begin with by using automated dialers and recorded style messages. They do not check the age of the data or if they do they ignore it. This is a scam number claiming that they are from the "financial markets" that will try and access your system through a remote access application. If they do not succeed this way they will attempt to take your card details including the security details on the back of your card.
