Male recorded voice, dangerous and harassing - claimed to be HMRC about a fraud in my name - if I didn't press 1, it said the bailiffs would be round and I'd be going to jail! They seem to be perming the number so anything beginning 0203837**** is suspect.

SCAM - Seems to be a call centre as noisy line. Tried to obtain bank details etc under false pretences, alleging an engineer from BT has detected problems on my home landline and that without rectification I could incur £+ costs but if remedial action is taken quickly charges may be reduced. I asked for their engineer and departmental details but got nowhere so advised would call BT myself and the caller rang off. One for OfCom and other authorities.

Claims to be from EE promotions, I thought it was true as I did recently ask EE to call me as I was in the realm for an upgrade. Fraud I keep getting calls from this number. It is an automated voice that says it is from BT and then proceeds to tell me they have been trying to get in contact and that if I don't respond my phone line will be disconnected. It's obviously a scam as I'm not even with BT. This has been happening for the past week and occurs several times a day.

Calls are at least - being stopped by Call Guardian which is built into the phone. So, the phone rings once, the Guardian kicks in and asks for the caller s identity. However, since this has never been given (and any such call is then terminated by Guardian), we assume they coming from an automated system. We just wish the system would give up on us!
