They should know whose account the transactions were on Second warning sign - As far as I'm aware Visa don't contact people direct, your card issuer will contact you. I missed a call from this no. When I tried to find out who it was..it said no. not in use/no. not recognised. It`s O2.
This number is used by an Oven-Cleaning service - I tried to use them a couple of years ago but they would never come when I wanted them to. After getting my money back from the bank I told them that I did not want their services any more. Since then I have received literally hundreds of calls, all saying that they would like to confirm a time and date for their visit - I have asked them to stop but they are relentless. I have also blocked various numbers, at least 20 but they still call.

Fraud Had text claiming to be be from Starling Bank - text came through on same message thread as previous verification code so I thought it was genuine. Text advised suspicious activity in my account for which they would be contacting by phone (which they did the next day) They already had lots of my identifying info and put me through other checks. They’d cleared thousands out of my account by the time I’d called Starling bank a few hours later.

SCAM A female agent called me with Mobile Phone = 07428693956 at 12:02 pm identifying themselves as BT Customer Services and Security. They said their engineer was working on the line and detected an extra IP address registered at my location. Now BT customer services never ring outbound on a mobile, plus IP addresses are allotted by the router and not by the user. phone call from 01270 102970 to home landline at 1645pm 12/01/2023. Caller had foreign accent . Caller said he was from Sky Assurance as our insurance on our TV is about to expire and offered me various deals at various costs to renew. I have never heard of Sky Assurance, and we do NOT currently have any insurance policy covering our TV. When I asked the caller where he was based , he hung up!

Caller said name was PERRY HUTHES asked numerous personal questions managed to get my mum and dad's ages and details about house security before my mum managed to get the phone off Dad. suggested working with Warwickshire police - vague enough to not be an outright lie wanted to get someone into the house for a sales visit. hard sell rather than scammer I think, but still very annoying and careful probing for personal details set the alarm bells ringing.
Called claiming to be Curry’s Pc World acting on behalf of network providers giving customers better deals. Phoned Curry’s to check legitimacy and they informed me this is definitely a scam as they don’t even have an outbound sales call team anymore and don’t act under the Currys Pc World name anymore, just ‘Curry’s’.
