indian sounding lady called today, used my "nickname" that I don t use professionally, said that she was calling from Microsoft and that the technical team had noticed a problem with Windows on my computer. When I said I was an IT graduate with several years of support experience and that her story did not add up, and that she was calling from Watford where Microsoft do not have an office, she strangely put the phone down on me!

Six times in a week this number has called and as I am on holiday I am charged to answer UK calls and answerphone. It must be an automatic dialer as any sane person would recognise a foreign ringtone.

Silent call, on ringback got answer machine.

They are a data providing company who have given my details to many different concerns. I have asked them to remove me from their database which they promised to do within the next 24 hours.

My partner received numerous calls saying his number was on some guys girlfriends phone we quickly realised it was an automatic recorded voice as if you don t speak it carries on speaking as though having a conversation ect. Apparently a market research company based in Ashford, Kent. When I have to give my phone number to a company (bank, etc) I don t expect it to be passed to ANYONE - even a company doing research for whoever I gave my number to. I especially hate being called at 1900 - 2100 hrs and the phone not ringing long enough for me to answer it, even if I wanted to. Especially annoying if I m actually expecting someone to call and then the phone goes dead . Don t need this harassment at my age.
