I received a text, supposedly from HSBC, advising me that a "payment was attempted to a new payee" and including the following link: https://hs-mobilebanking-paymentsupport.com/hsbc/login The link page it directs you to looks the same as the genuine HSBC login page BUT it is a hoax - DO NOT USE THIS WEBPAGE TO ACCESS YOUR ACCOUNT. As I said, it looks good but the give-away is the fact that the links on the page do not work.

Once money is sent to the scammers, they will either disappear immediately or try to get more money with claims of continued problems with the transfer.
