SCAM/PHISHING? Foreign sounding man calling himself ‘Kevin’ from the ‘Post Code Lottery’ said that I had been picked to win a ‘gift card’ that would give me 40% off ANY supermarket shop. I said I hadn’t entered any competition, but he just carried on talking. He knew my name/surname, and asked my age. Refused to tell him. He was persistent & asked again. Was called at 4.15pm on Sunday and a message was left that consisted of a full 5 minutes exactly of white noise.
This is for a travel agent called Tropical Sky. It was a legitimate call in my case.

I received a call from a man with a very strong accent claiming to be from BT to help speed up our broadband. The fact that he greeted me saying ?hi I?m Martin? then 5 minutes later told me his name was John Wilson, was a huge red flag. I can confirm that this is a scam call number as I called the real BT to confirm the number was not affiliated with them. Do not give out any information or allow these scammers access to your computer!

Noticed a missed call from this number on an old mobile I d only recently put a brand new SIM into. This phone has never been used to make calls anywhere so either Tesco Mobile have started re-issuing old numbers or the calling company are chancers.

SCAM - Just had a call saying they were contacting me about upgrading my phone, so I wasn't best pleased about being disturbed when I'm not feeling well with a very heavy cold. I knew it was a scam straight away as there was no link to my existing provider, so I informed the caller of that and told him to "Bu**er off"! Suggest others do the same.

Returning the call has a message that says "thank you for calling In Credit Management". They have no website and call from multiple different numbers, as such this is likely a scam. Block the number. If it was a genuine collection agency then they would at least have an internet presense and would not operate out of an oversees call centre.
