Tried the 'we need to check some transactions on your account' trick. Told him to 'go away'..... only thing is, the number appears to be a genuine one. Looks as though it may have been hijacked.

Received this call today. It came approximately 30 minutes after a call from a Cambridge number 01223 931995. The Cambridge number went dead on answering. The 01330 563426 number allowed me to answer, and an automated message said it was the HMRC and that I would be fined. You could press 1 to talk to an agent. I hung up. You cannot ring back. Called me saying they are the Carphone Warehouse and were trying to get me to buy laptops, phones and tablets. The line was pretty rubbish so I'm not sure if this was a scam as I'm sure the Carphone Warehouse don't just randomly call up numbers.

Can't believe anyone would want to call me from Hanoi! This number appeared on my landline phone bill and I queried it but they could not tell me who the number belonged to. I think this number should be ignored/deleted if anyone gets a call. I will certainly delete it from my phone.

28 Nov. 2022 (17:33) a chap with Indian accent called me claiming to be from BT to say that my computer may have been compromised and that he could check that for me if I switched it on and he ran a quick check. Complete nonsense of course and an attempted scam. He said he was calling from London but the area code is Falkirk (Scotland).

SCAM sounds like background noise in a call centre, couldn't understand who she was saying she was from and sounded as if Indian/Pakistani.
It’s from Russia and i suspect it’s a scam site but still anything from Russia I wouldn’t class as safe.
Russian sounding chap called from 02081871316, didn't give a compnay name, but said in a clunky manner that I'd bought bitcoin as "another company", it's been stolen but they can help me get it back. I'm concerned that they might scam someone if they get more slick at the script.
