This number called saying about clearing my debts with a new goverment initiative. He had an asian accent. When i asked him which initiative and refused to give any of my details. He became very abusive.

I have managed to confirm that calls from this number are from a company debt management company called Stephenson Drake (www.stevensondrake.com. They operate by automated cold calling your number. You will either hear silence or a message asking if you are having problems with debt. If you press 5 to speak to someone then you are cut off BUT your number is stored and you will receive a follow up call from them. I had received a voicemail stating they were from the inland revenue and that I needed to phone them back before they took legal action, I did so.... They stated that they had 607 pounds to reimburse in tax back to my bank account and that if I hung up they would freeze all outgoings to and from my account I told them bollocks and that I was going to report the number... Not quite sure what they are on with but don't fall for it.
Had call from "Steven" claiming to be from BT, very similar to one I had last week, told him as such, and that I had checked out the last one with BT and he hung up whilst I was mid-sentence. If in any doubt call BT and they can tell you when you were last contacted by them, although they don t seem to be bothered about doing anything about these nuisance scam calls.
