this number has been calling me several times per day for around 2 weeks, when I answered it was a telemarketing company telling me I had been involved in an accident (I haven t) when I responded with "well you know more about this than I do" the caller hung up and didn t call again so I will definitely be using that tactic in the future

Got a dodgy call from this number from someone claiming to be O2. Dodgy accent and background noises. He wanted far too many details about me to have genuinely been a phone company for "security purposes". When I refused, tried to sell me phones and contracts. This was a call from somebody purporting to be calling from the Times subscription department about a problem with my account. I was just suspicious and phoned the main Times newspaper subscription service number. They confirmed that the call from the Colchester number was genuine.
Scammers pretending to be from my mobile company wanting to offer me a new deal then wanted my bank details & details about phone account but could not even provide my name from their records. Avoid at all costs.

The first woman told me my details had come up on her computer as being owed PPI, then asked me several questions about whether I’d taken mortgages, loans etc, I told her that if she had my details she would know all that. We went round in circles for several minutes... The postcode she had was for an address I moved from 9 years ago
