I m on TPS as well as careful about giving out my number, so I can only imagine they are using one of those random dialer machines, which as far as I am aware, are illegal. Reported to TPS, Ofcom and my mobile service provider. Hopefully one of them will stop these idiots calling.

Just received a call from a young man on this number with a Liverpudlian accent. He asked for me by name and asked if I'd been on an all expenses holiday recently. I asked him how he got my number, or his company name or his own name to which he got upset and told me he couldn't tell me any of that. Scammer.

It's a home appliance insurance scam. They called my elderly mother and tried to make her think it was her existing insurance company but it's actually a fak-ish looking company called J&L Home Assist. They tried to get my mum to hand over her bank details and persisted even when she said she wasn't comfortable doing that. A bit of investigation reveals that there are a number of similar fake companies doing the same thing, all claiming to be in the Bournemouth area.
Answered this number was told they are ICS something about claims so I just said I'm not interested and hung up, number now blocked.
