Took a contract out with car phone warehouse have not given out number which means car phone warehouse has passed on my number against my will. Got a call from this number claiming to be from my Mobile Phone provider offering an upgrade. As I am on a PAYG tariff (satisfactory for my needs) I politely declined their offer and hung-up. If and when I want or need an upgrade I will decide which Company to approach.

Claimed to be BT (or rather, "BT's outbound team, working for BT", rang my landline but also knew my mobile as they had a PIN sent to it. I said it was a scam and hung up.

I managed to keep the guy on the call for 4 minutes until he realised I was wasting his time when he asked if I'd seen event view before... I work in software development, hopefully wasting his 4 minutes stops another person falling for underhand tactics.
