Why has this number been used by a scam operator purporting to be from Amazon?

diffractions are now using private number to call, as i m not answering 0203 ..... number.... this is harassment....

This number called today and I didn t have time to Google it before answering. Said they were from American Express, only asked for half my postcode and they knew the type of card I held and how long I have had it. I received a call from this number at 5.15 ish am 0191 4171380 after a while phone went dead, I rang back phone answers then went dead, just like comments above.

Had to urgently contact them regarding some fraudulent transactions on my account. The number is for the fraud team, and it's totally genuine.

I blocked this number after reading on a number of sites that they are a market research company. Don t believe their story that they do not have to comply with data screening /TPS lists etc. I do not think that their excuse we are not a marketing/sales company should excuse these people from TPS lists and private numbers They are unsolicited / cold callers.
