These type of companies work from a dialling system where numbers are selected at random. They say they are calling about a recent accident on the off chance that the 1 in a million (slightly exaggerated) people they call say they have been in one. He wanted far too many details about me to have genuinely been a phone company for "security purposes". When I refused, tried to sell me phones and contracts. Doesn t match any O2 number I m aware of online.

The first woman told me my details had come up on her computer as being owed PPI, then asked me several questions about whether I’d taken mortgages, loans etc, I told her that if she had my details she would know all that.
