Answered the call and it was a civil servant helping me with my benefit payments. Perhaps others would rather not hear from the DWP(!) but if you re expecting a call as I was then it s probably best to accept it.

This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls, fake wins, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I had a recorded voice telling me that my IP address had been compromised and was going to be disconnected and asking me to press 1 so that they could ask me some questions. I did this and was connected to a call centre where I was I asked why I had called. I explained and said that I was deeply suspicious of a scam and they hung up. The recording called again and I searched for anybody else who had this happen, but I could find no reports.

Fraud? This was an automated voice message saying it was from BT and that they were going to disconnect my land line and internet due to suspicious activity. I hung up on it and blocked the contact to my mobile.
