Stated he was from a company called Caledonian. Wouldnt tell me anything about the company or why he was calling until I said I had time to spare to talk properly. I hung up. Obviously trying to either sell me something or claim back PPI or similar. Not very forthcoming. I would avoid this company.

Called my mobile and then landline number and a man with a Liverpool accent said they had been passed my details and they were calling about an accident I d had. Told him I hadn t and they should not have my details and to remove them from their lists and also told him that both numbers registered with TPS so will report them.

They have clled us several times on our TPS registered number asking to speak to a certain member of staff who no longer works in this department. They ve been told this every time but are apparently too stupid to understand.
Appreciate this seems to be a legit and helpful company from the other messages left here, but I just received a call from these guys and had no idea why they were calling me. Silent call The owners of this number need to learn how to use an autodialler properly. Twice today (so far) I've picked up phone to silence at the other end. Whatever they're selling, I'd be reluctant to buy from a company that makes silent calls because they can't set up an autodialler correctly. Clue: You need people at YOUR end to speak to those who pick up. Amateurs!

Scam text purporting to be from British Gas saying they have made an appointment for me. I did not respond but then had several texts on the day they said the appt had been made saying they were on their way but might be late! No-one turned up I'm pleased to say. I didn't click any links so don't know what the scam is about - probably an information phishing expeditiion - but it is very clever and needs to be exposed.

This is updating a previous comment I made. The number is definitely Social Services but you cannot return the call to this number directly as it seems to be a main switchboard and is constantly engaged - you need to have the extension for the person who contacts you. If you don t have an answerphone then you will have to answer the call to find out who exactly is calling and for what reason.
