Claims to be from EE promotions, I thought it was true as I did recently ask EE to call me as I was in the realm for an upgrade. Scam text purporting to be from British Gas saying they have made an appointment for me. I did not respond but then had several texts on the day they said the appt had been made saying they were on their way but might be late! No-one turned up I'm pleased to say. I didn't click any links so don't know what the scam is about - probably an information phishing expeditiion - but it is very clever and needs to be exposed.

Rang my mother . Knew all her details. Pretended to be British Gas and said if she paid 199.99 now she would save money. They even knew her BG home service plan was up for renewal soon. He was so polite and convincing, she gave her bank card details. Luckily Nationwide have done a visa dispute and refunded her. We have phoned trading standards, British gas . Written a cancellation letter to so called company. This needs to go to Watchdog.
This number has called my mobile 3 times today. Nobody there when I answer.
