This number is not recognised if trying to call back. Which is the sign of a scammer. They have called several times despite being told not to. They have now been reported to TPS , but I doubt anything will be done :(
There is no simple way of verifying mobile numbers, many of them are unregistered on pay as you go tariffs. You will have to contact your customer and ask him to confirm his name.

Caller identified herself as TalkTalk. Poor line and Indian accent sounded as overseas. Asked for personal details, when I queried this she hung up.

This is a scam number, and probably all numbers 023821464**. Asian sounding voice said he was from "Amazon Fraud Department" and that my account had been compromised (I don't have an Amazon account). He quoted, correctly both my mobile number and my house phone number. Told me that the account would be frozen. Indian sounding guy calls allegedly from BT. Tells me to go to my computer as he can assist with the virus that has been sent this weekend.
