I was called today by this company and found out who they were (on here). I promptly phoned their 0845 number and requested that they remove me from their database. I explained that I had caller preference and threatened to report them to Ofcom. The interesting thing is that they asked me if I knew a certain person (who they mentioned by name). This person was clearly the person they were chasing for the debt but I had never heard of her. They state on their website that they are they work ethically, honest

Wanted to "help" me with any debt I had under the Government Debt Reduction scheme - wanted to know how much debt I had. When I asked for a number to call them back on he only wanted an address to post me information. I asked again for a number, he hung up

I suspect it s a fishing exercise to gather info we may seem to think is harmless but gives clues to passwords bank details and so on the first question was who do I bank with and do I bank online I am deeply suspicious of anyone asking about any of my financial details unsolicited as banks don t call asking my details so no-one else should either
