Automated call This was a recorded message telling me I'd missed a call from my internet provider (I hadn't as a check of the call log quickly showed) and saying that my service was about to be discontinued!!
At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.
