I received a series of five unsolicited calls over a two month period. No conversation, just the sound of people talking (in English)in the background, then hung-up.

I answered today and said the same thing - so checked what information they had on my address etc, and have the correct address, have asked for the information, and will check it out when I receive it. I asked where they had obtained my information from and he said from an online form I had completed, and as I have recently, this would seem feasible, as the databases are available to purchase in the telemarketing world. Was an SMS to landline. The "message" left was only a few numbers and nothing else. Cannot be a genuine call.

Had dealings with RTA a few years ago and they were totally useless and not to be trusted. Had a call yesterday from this number and they are now calling themselves something like Business Associates, claiming they had a buyer waiting to buy my business and could they call back with details. Got a call from 0161 975 1500 but they hung up before I could answer. I have already reported them to Trading Standards to no avail. Recommend you waste there time but trust them with nothing!

Said she was from Autodesk or AutoCAD and was looking to speak to accounts as license was due to expire. As we don't use Autocad i got suspicious, then she asked if she was speaking to a certain company, of which i didn't know. This may have been a genuine call where they phoned the wrong company or could have been a scam to try and get a payment. As Autodesk now use 3rd party account managers then you would normally know the person calling you and they would be using the correct names.

Local number, said I was involved in a road traffic accident in past 2 years. I said I don't drive and he said they'll remove my number & he hung up.

This appears to be a virtual geographic number provided by Vodaphone. Lobby your MP and Ofcom to get the industrialised deception of virtual geographic numbers outlawed.
