I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. SCAM Warning asks you to enter bank card or account details and name. They text you and pretend you have missed a parcel (no information is given about the parcel.) then ask for postcode (any postcode you enter always comes up with same page about try to delivery today at 11:23.) the asks for personal data name address birth date and then ask for a small fee for redelivery and ask for bank card and bank account details.
SCAM / SPAM Pretending to be from HMRC saying there is an outstanding warrant and if I do not press a number to contact them I will be fined.
New phone, no number given out, only to a few close friends, but keep getting this number calling with 3 rings then cut off.
At best this a company that breaks the PECR regulations by calling people on the TPS list. At worst it s a scam preying on older people because they don t seem to have a website and are asking whether you re over 65. Don t give them any information, just report them to the Information Commissioner s Office. T

They pretend to be from talktalk or BT and tell you that your computer has a virus and they need to download remote control software so they can fix it. In reality they are going to try and steal your bank and credit card details.
