I agree with other comments. They had my name and address (when they should not have). I was stupid enough to confirm this. they ask you do you have a car, make/brand of car, and other products you may own. and some other lifestyle choice questions. I started saying "no comment" to every question and 5 questions later they hung up on me.

Fraud - I received a text saying "Your parcel requires a £2.99 shipping fee, pay this now at royal.mail-transit.co.uk If not paid your parcel will be return." This was smart as I had last week mailed a parcel to Europe but I had it tracked so when I check my tracking number on the official royal mail website it said it had already been delivered.

Received a letter addressed to me at my work address from SKY with this phone number. Purports to want to refund me £23 on my SKY account. Have not had a SKY account in my name for many years (5+) after I cancelled it. Current SKY account (Again 5+ years) in my wife s name and paid by direct debit. Suspect this is SKY s debt collection department chasing money by illegal means (contacting me at work) that isn t due.

As above an Indian chap who said that his name was Jasper, we sometimes get called 20 times a day, he says that he is from Microsoft calling as they have noticed some issues with my operating system. I let him go on for a while, he wanted me to sign in and let him take control of my pc, I then said that I was a licensed Microsoft engineer and the line went dead immediately.

A woman claiming to be calling about energy research and deals available to us. We've been called many times by such companies who usually want to send round 'an energy assessor' for cavity and loft insulation. When I asked if it was a cold call and that we were registered with TPS, she said not at all so that wouldn't apply to her call (blatantly untrue). She feigned innocence very well and hung up - no doubt we will be called by them again, that's this kind of company's MO.

Some indian guy claiming to be from a quality center clqiming that I had registered at some trading platform. I was absolutely sure I hadn't registered on the site by mistake as all my information was there. Funny enough he could not give me the date of my supposed registration! LoL When he noticed he did not get anywhere with me, he abruptly hung up. Quite a rude chap if he really intended quality and customer satisfaction. My guess: part of the ongoing scams on Internet

Just had a call saying I am going to be sued from HMRC I panicked for a second and thought I don't owe them any money at all or any one else, I feel like phoning them back and blowing a whistle downd the phone and a few swear words lol, scamming gits glad I looked it up and thanks for having this site.
SCAM - addressed me by my name and verified my address. The lady basically said that my fibre-glass wool loft insulation is no longer valid and they in my area tomorrow doing surveys in the neighbouring roads. I said that I was in the property business and I have not heard of this and I would need to look into it. And guess what he phone went dead. How rude, not even a goodbye.
Sob story. Company gone bust. Just wants to recoup her investment. Did however send sample data. Gave a vague story about the complany but no details.
