Amazon scam from Asian call centre. Supposed fraudulent transaction on my Amazon account. Asked me to give six number code sent to me in SMS from Amazon - This was my two step verification code to change my password. All they need to get this sent to you is your Amazon account linked phone number. I did of course refuse.
recorded message saying my card had been used today for suspicious payments of £300 and £1350 today. Then asked me to press 1to cancel payments and a couple of other options. I terminated the call. Obviously a fraud/scam as no indication of which card was involved.

Almost certainly SPAM/SCAM as it called at the usual parasites'/pests' evening time, in this case 6.30pm. There was a suspicious pause & silence (auto-dialler?) when I answered and then the call was disconnected. Santander left a voice mail, which I thought was a little bit suspicious, as I have never heard or had a bank leave any kind of voice mail. So I rang the official phone number that is on the back of my card and after being on hold for nearly an hour they eventually answered and apparently they had nothing written on my account about anyone who tried to contact me and left a message. Someone from the fraud department will be contacting me, so I will find out if this number is legit or if they are scammers
