Claimed to be a “Michael Fernandez” from Windows Technical Department.He told me that there has been a corruption with my computer and that he has to resolve it for me and started to give me directions on where to navigate on my pc. I stopped him and asked what exactly the problem was and he said it was something to do with the RAM and hardware and that if he doesn’t help me it will cause me major problems. I asked him for his number (0161 818 2022) - no answer naturally.

I believe this is Scottish power though they don t give me time to pick up orleave a message. I am with SSE but not sure if its a genuine call or not for me. Several missed calls from this number over the past few weeks to my mobile, no messages left. Very annoying as this is my private mobile used for outgoing calls, and, more particularly, known only to my wife and daughters for any urgent family calls. Obviously random dialling by the caller.

Have received 3 calls this week from other numbers starting 0161 to my mobile, and nw this one. They all only rang a couple of times, not long enough to look at the number and decide if I was going to answer or not, before the caller hung up. Having read the comments, I have now blocked both numbers.

Automated call claiming to be Halifax Fraud Dept & ask you to call them back with the three digit code they give you. I used the number on the back of my card instead and while there were fraudulent payments on my card. Halifax sorted it but I believe it was a fishing call to get more information so they could use my card
