Called 4 times in one day! I thought about calling back but glad I didn t! I google every unknown number that calls me now. As of late, I am getting unknown calls every other day. I m not sure who I gave these details to, but no doubt at least my phone number has been sold to scammers and or telemarketers.

blocked this number, because it is a very close number to a previous gas cold caller and an insurance scam number. the only difference is the last digit. they must have bought a job lot of numbers.
Not recognising number and no credit to call back
This is updating a previous comment I made. The number is definitely Social Services but you cannot return the call to this number directly as it seems to be a main switchboard and is constantly engaged - you need to have the extension for the person who contacts you. If you don t have an answerphone then you will have to answer the call to find out who exactly is calling and for what reason.

Fraud- said it was the sheriffs office in Scotland. Told them I was a police officer and they put the phone down.

Really annoying insurance scam. Trying to say that we have unclaimed compensation. When I ring back it says that number not in use.
Phoney call about loft insulation having recently been carried out. Possibly dangerous if anyone falls for it. Code is for Alloa but quite close to a local code (nowhere near Alloa, geographically).
They have clled us several times on our TPS registered number asking to speak to a certain member of staff who no longer works in this department. They ve been told this every time but are apparently too stupid to understand.

Picked up, the line was silent and then started ringing as though I had called the number (I get the feeling this is a reverse charges scam) Someone picked up on the other end after 1 ring said my name then hung up. Number is being blocked - be careful!

SCAM by recorded voice saying they were HM Revenue & Customs and a tax fraud had been reported. Say to press 1 to discuss with the officer. If I didn’t press a number to be connected I woukd soon be arrested. Obviously pressing any key will incur huge charges or they will try to get you to give personal information etc. My number is really private so I wonder just who sold it to these scammers?

SCAM / SPAM Scam claiming bt internet technician. First he states his name is justin. Then he states jim. He had a foreign - Indian or Pakistani accent. Tells you to download team viewer app from play store/ Apple store and then asks you for the id number. They will try to block your device and charge you to unlock it. When I stated I use virgin he saud by can fix the virgin technical problems too. If I had a problem I would ring my provider which was none of the ones I have mentioned here.
Claiming I had a car accident and they can help with the claim, when challenged how they obtained my number (registered on TPS) they became very aggressive and abusive. Clearly they operating some sort of scam. Once you begin to challenge them they shut down they will hang up and place you on hold and refuse to give any credible information which would allow you to then report the issue appropriately to get them shutdown.

Male caller rang from this number at lunchtime today. A bit of a waffle introduction, but eventually got round to the subject - an invitation to a free financial seminar (apparently people are really interested in it because of low interest rates). But he declined any request to put his information pack in the post to me. Pretty sure its a scam that should be avoided.

He ranted about being from Afganistan, and that he was in the Taliban, and had an effing rifle you get the message! went on for 5 mins... Could here callcentre noise in background. I called the 0800 orange no. and was told it wasnt them, but called the number and it said it WAS orange and the office was called. Dialed 101 and reported the number and moron to the police.. let them find him.
