Original call number came in as V21309255500012, when picked up and answered, no response, just silence. After hanging up, hit CID button (caller ID) and the new number was revealed as 1-778-555-0161, a number from British Columbia.

Caller (male, strong Indian sub-continent accent) said he was from the Debt Advisory Department, and was calling to advise me about clearing my debts faster. Worryingly, he addressed me by my full name which I do not normally disclose or use.
who is this and where did they get my number from?? i did get someone at the other end earlier today , they mumbled something, called me by a name then the line went dead. I can only assume that whoever was on the other end was a complete arsehole and i would not want to speak to him again anyway. time the authoroties got a grip with these cold callers and put a stop to it. telephone preference registration is a complete waste of time!!!

These jokers called me today addressing me as "Mr Steven" I said where are you calling from? He said "Nationwide" I said "Really? Well then you should know that in Britain nobody is Mr first name either just use their first name or Mr with their last name". This confused my thickly accented Indian friend greatly but I think he understood me in the end. SCAM Didn't get a call from this number but it is shown on a small value (£0.94) package received in the post this morning where the addressee is not known at this address. Spoke to the Company which was quoted on the package as sender - One World Economy - and they have confirmed that they are a forwarding company for E-bay and were asked to send this on behalf of a Chinese company. Seem soo be a brushing scam as another package also received this morning from a different sender egis time value £0.08.
