This is a scam number. Automated call received claiming to be from HMRC and regarding tax fraud. The automated call makes threat about arrest for not paying tax! Asks to press 1 to continue with the call. I am certain if you press 1 then you will be connected to a premium rate number and will be charged hundreds of pounds (may be even thousands).

A man claimed he was from a company called "Speed" who rudely demand to know why I hadn t made a claim for the accident I d apparently been in. The last accident I d been involved in was a few years ago and upon hearing me start to explain this he hung up before I finished speaking. This is clearly a scam hoping to either get some personal details to allow them to commit identity fraud or to falsely extract money from me.

I have now tracked them down and the number belongs to a supposedly reputable charity fundraising organisation. I say supposedly reputable since no genuinely reputable company would make such a nuisance of themselves, especially on TPS registered numbers. Called about a "car accident" that I was in. Don t even own a car. Tried to ask who was calling and who the call was directed to, but they hung up.

Caller to our TPS registered number wrongly claiming to be "your current energy supplier". Attempted to tell me I was wrong when I told him that they weren t our supplier, and demanded to know if I was "the manager", and then attempted a line of stammering bullshit when I asked him to prove his credentials by quoting me the account number and the name of the account holder. A complete, lying, shyster who got himself told to sod off, in fairly short order.

Introduced himself as from Virgin Media. Usual Indian accent which is not an issue given the number of services now operated from Mumbai. My signal was poor and call ended, either my signal or them, no details asked for thus neutral rating.
