SCAM Caller said they were from Amazon and that I would have a high payment charged monthly (£79.99) unless cancelled and the caller was going to "help me" cancel my Amazon Prime subscription. After some arguing (as she tried to get me to stay on the line), I hung up and checked Amazon website going through their online chatbot. I have received calls from these people every day but nobody is on the line. So I emailed them and told them to remove my ex directory number immediately as they are contravening the new Data Protection Law and one more call and I will complain and they could incur as hefty fine, if I wanted their insurance I would call them, so Google Data Protection and go on their site, There is a link where you can complain. This is harassment so let s put a stop to it.

Poor reception where I was when I answered so they couldn't hear me, but they knew my name, eventually they hung up. I rang the number back later and immediately heard an automated message saying my custom was important to them and I would be answered by the next available agent but no-where in the message did they reveal who they were so hung up.

Purported to be Virgin Media reviewing your account to provide the best possible service. They fail on DPA/GDPR as don't seem to understand the principles of validating they are speaking to the account holder. They don't have access to account information such as account numbers, billing area codes etc.
