Potential scam, American-sounding woman claimed to be from “something or other” from Amazon. I couldn’t make out what it was she said as the line kept crackling, sounded like Ice something but it didn’t make sense so I told her I’d never heard of it and ended the call.
I received a call from this number claiming to be calling from a company (don t remember the name of the company) and is calling in relation to an enquiry that I had made online and asked me to confirm DOB and my address for security purposes. I asked where they had obtained my information from and he said from an online form I had completed, and as I have recently, this would seem feasible, as the databases are available to purchase in the telemarketing world. Said he was from an IT company that I had used recently, when I asked where he got my number from overrode my questions saying he had got it from a database and continued saying I had used one of there services recently. Told him my number was on TPF and he replied not interested and it didn t concern him what I was on. Had been pre-warned by family/friends that these type of text messages have been circulating. Do not open message and certainly do not click on the link(s) provided.

I missed one payment in 25 years becasue I was abroad and forgot to pay before my holiday. My next statement says to pay by a date next week which I will do and it includes the missed payment. Fair enough you would think? I get calls throughout the day from this number and nobody is on the other end. I also get text messages telling me to make a payment now. LITTLEWOODS are about to lose my custom and I am not paying the £12 they charged me fo missing that payment.

It IS Sky and if you ask them they will openly state they got your number from a third party. IE, they bought it. Have you done a survey of ANY kind? If so that is how your number is passed to them. They will apologise and remove your number from their database if you request it.
