This is British Gas, appears to be a call centre which rings on what appears to be a local call

Not sure what to label this - the call came on my work phone, no introduction, just an automated voice saying I would lose my national insurance number in court if I don't press '1' then it went silent, so I assume they wanted me to press the number and give them my bank deets

The guy said he was from Ecosave Power, which, having read the above, was true. However, he then asked if I had received my renewal paperwork, so I asked if he could tell me who my energy supplier was (I have recently changed suppliers, so would not be expecting any renewal paperwork yet). He said he would call me back - I said no, I can hold on, so he hung up. If that s not suspicious, what is?!

Fraud Was chatting with someone online who gave me this number. Claimed she was 20 years old. Then she sent a nude pic of herself, then told me she's 17, but 18 next month. So I called a halt and said sharing pics with anyone under 18 is illegal, let's leave it here. She then looked me up on Facebook and threatened to tell my family I was sharing pics with a 17 year old unless I gave her £300. Young guy called my mums home number (she s in her 70 s) and said that she had over paid money in to her bank and they needed to refund it and started asking for date of birth so she hung up. Be very careful with company! Avoid speaking to them!!!!

SCAM female voice thanking me for renewing my Amazon Prime with a payment of £79.99 and then to cancel press 1, or about anything else press 2. As I DO NOT HAVE an Amazon Prime account this was obviously a phishing scam.
I have been repeatedly called on my cellphone from this number, no message left at any time. Have ignored because I don t know anyone in Alton, Hampshire. Phoned the number back from a private landline and got a voice mail message saying "the person at extension 251 is unavailable, please leave your name..." etc. Very annonying!
SCAM. Answered the phone to hear a recorded message saying that a tax fraud claim had been raised against me and if I did not discuss this immediately that somebody will be sent to my house with a warrant for my arrest.

This person rung and claimed to be from TalkTalk and tried to get me to do something to my computer when I said he was a bogus caller he started making loads of insulting and threatening remarks towards me and my family. Barred number now.

Recorded message saying BT & that internet would be disconnected within 24hrs unless press 1 to speak to someone. Luckily my elderly mother who they called is pretty cautious about scams and checked with me. I got her to do 1471 & googled the number finding various reports of similar on BT forum.
A man with a very strong accent (difficult to understand) spoke about iPhones. I asked where he got my number from and he said 'from your provider, Vodaphone'. I'm not with Vodaphone so I told him that's untrue and he must be lying. He then proceeded to call me a liar - twice! Bizarre phone call. Potentially trying to gain personal data. Blocked.
