I have just had a call from this number - a man with an Asian accent (possible Indian) asking me about my computer,. saying there was something wrong with it, and he wanted to sort it out for me. I put the phone down, but he tried ringing back twice more.

I am suspicious of this phone number. The man phoning spoke good English with a strong accent and was convincing. He told me he was from AV (antiviral program) and that my recent payment of £149 had not gone through. He offered me a discount policy at £29 for the next year. Re The failed bank payment, the bank itself stopped this money and when I spoke to my bank it was decided that the £149 seemed high for an anti viral program and there was a possibility of fraud. Probably building to a scam, claimed to be BT a UK telephone provider investigating illegal activity on my internet, when I inquired as to who might be doing illegal things the caller suggested probably foreigners! The call was made at 7am in the morning to a private number, land line and one only known to family members.

Tried on two occasions to get a better deal at the end of my 24 month contract, not offered anything worth staying for especially after being a customer for 10 + years. I requested PAC via online chat as others did commenting here. Very painful experience, given the hard sell from retention team and then made very awkward to extract PAC number from them. Subsequently they rang me on said number begging for me to return ? Too late! I wouldn?t go back if it was free.
