Nuisance call. Phoned twice in last two weeks. Silent on answering.

"Indian" accented male called on the 11th of August 2016 saying that I had a problem with my computer and that it had many errors that I didn t know about. When I explained that I was in IT he rudely told me to "Shut up madam", when I asked if that is what he said he confirmed and said goodbye.

I have received several calls to my mobile from this number recently. If I don t answer the phone, they don t leave a message and when I do answer it the caller appears to hang up. I am wandering if it is SPAM or a wrong number (but surely if the latter they would have left a message for someone else or spoken to me and discovered the error). I ve noticed several Manchester numbers being associated with unwanted calls to EE customers and wonder if this number is also being used by the same people/company.

As stated by Max above - The caller said he was calling from British Gas and said they have had technical issues and they need my electricity meter numbers. I work in the energy industry and I am aware they can access this via the national electricity database (ECOES) - as my supplier they are fully entitled to use this. I challenged him and he continued to give excuses. I then terminated the call.

usual pakistani,muslim sounding scammer claiming to be from solicitors. for some reason he didnt take too kindly to the barrage of verbal abuse from me and eventually took the hint after calling back 5 times in rapid succession for more of the same treatment. sometimes its just nice to be able to unload your abuse at someone who cant complain about you. :)

Exact same thing just happened to me. Although my name and number were correct,the address she said I had never heard of. All a bit odd.

14 Dec 2021 - Spam caller. I didn't accept the call, so rejected it upon my phone ringing as mine always tells me when it's a spam call during the ringing. Have since blocked it as I'm not as gullible as the spammer thinks. No idea who the spam call was from, but from experience I knew it was one of the many spam calls I've been getting for the past ten days at least.
